what_changed

How a rule changed between two versions, word by word.

How rules are matched

Riot renumbers hundreds of rules at every update, so the same rule can carry a different number in each version. Rules are matched by their wording, never by number.

Input

from_version
string, required
The older version, like 1.3.
to_version
string, required
The newer version, like 1.4.
ref
string, optional
One rule, in either version. Without it, you get every changed rule.
limit
integer, default 20
Without ref: how many changed rules to return, 1 to 100.

Output

With ref: a status (unchanged, renumbered, changed, added or removed) and the rule's old and new sides, each with its ref and text.

Without ref: counts of changed, added and removed rules; the changed rules, wording that flips meaning (may and must, not) first; and the refs of added and removed rules.

Example

{ "from_version": "1.3", "to_version": "1.4", "ref": "core@1.4:419.4.a" }

The first call reads both PDFs and takes several seconds. make diff shows the same comparison in the terminal.

Errors

  • from_version must be older than to_version.
  • ref is from another version than the two compared.
  • has no rule, no known effective date, missing PDF: as in get_rule.
